The 7 Strongest Victors From The Hunger Games' Series

Throughout the Hunger Games series, there were some victors that really stood out to me because of their strength and their bravery. Not all of the following people are alive, but if they were thrown into an arena with just the seven of them, I think they would have all stood a chance. So, let’s get on to the list of the most powerful and deadly winners. Happy Hunger Games!

1. Finnick Odair

Finnick Odair

The one and only Finnick Odair gets the spot of strongest Hunger Games Victor. He won after being sent one of the most expensive gifts there ever was in the arena: a trident. He trapped his victims in a net and speared them to death, and in a few days, the victory was his. Finnick, being a Career Tribute, was athletic and deadly. In the Third Quarter Quell, he received the first kill of the Games, taking out the District 5 male to save Katniss. He was a part of the rebellion and the alliance in the 75th Hunger Games that were to protect Katniss at all costs. He eventually was killed by lizard muttations in Mockingjay

2. Johanna Mason

Johanna Mason

When Johanna went into the arena for the 71st Hunger Games, she had a game plan. She survived most of the Games by hiding and pretending she was extremely weak and not worth the bother to hunt. But when the numbers decreased, she came out fighting. Johanna was a ruthless killer, strong with her axe. In the Third Quarter Quell, she allied with Finnick, Katniss, Peeta, Beetee, and Wiress. She was a part of the Second Rebellion, and protected Katniss so that the ‘Girl on Fire’ could lead District Thirteen.

3. Katniss Everdeen

Katniss Everdeen

Most of Katniss’s skills in the arena came from trying to survive in District Twelve. She hunts illegally, she forages plants and berries from the woods and the meadow, and she learns (a bit) on healing people from her mother. She learned how to use a bow from her father, and Gale teaches her how to set snares to catch game. Katniss is also fast and strong, making her a true target. However, as she is from the worst District and still got an eleven in her private session, this put a big target on her. She has deadly accuracy with her bow, and never misses when she’s got her eye on a target, making her one of the most dangerous victors there ever lived.

4. Enobaria Golding

Enobaria Golding

I would be scared if one of my fellow tributes got their throat ripped out by a set of teeth. Enobaria was made famous for this act in the 62nd Hunger Games. In fact, after she won these Games, she turned her teeth into gold fangs. It is also the reason that she made this list, not to mention that she was also a Career Tribute. In the Third Quarter Quell, she sparred with Katniss and it became clear at once that they would not become allies in the arena. In Mockingjay, Enobaria, Johanna, and Peeta were taken by the Capitol, and she was allowed to go to District 13. If it were me, I would be running away from Enobaria right away after seeing her teeth, not to mention her ripping out another tribute’s throat.

5. Lucy Gray Baird

What’s not to be scared of when one of your competitors can sing and make poisonous snakes do her bidding? Though Lucy Gray is a sweet girl and a beautiful singer from District Twelve, she was responsible for the poisoning of three tributes. But she only used the snake muttations in the arena once to kill Treech. Her other two victims, Wovey and Reaper, were killed with the rat poison that was given by Coriolanus. She also killed Mayfair Lipp, the daughter of the mayor of District Twelve, by dropping a poisonous snake down her dress. She committed this act because the other girl was responsible for having Lucy Gray’s name drawn on reaping day. These kills are why Lucy Gray is on this list.

6. Haymitch Abernathy

Haymitch Abernathy

This name was a surprise to me. Haymitch, the drunk mentor of Katniss and Peeta? But there’s more to him other than his drinking and awkward personality. Haymitch was reaped for the Second Quarter Quell, and he found a way to turn the force field into a weapon. However, two weeks after he won, his mother, younger brother, and girlfriend were killed. He then turned to drinking after this tragic event, and also because every tribute that he mentored for the next 23 years were killed in the arena. The reason he is on this list is because in the arena, he was a smart competitor and turned something into his victory, namely the force shield. He seemed to be handy with a knife, as he killed two Career Tributes and has taken to sleeping with one in hand.

7. Beetee Latier

Beetee Latier

The smart and techy Beetee Latier deserves a spot in this article. Being from District Three, he wasn’t a Career Tribute, and therefore didn’t stand that much of a chance. He became the victor of an unknown Hunger Games, and he killed the remaining six tributes at the end, making him the victor. He used an electronic trap made from supplies from the Cornucopia. During the rebellion, he crafted Katniss’s new bow and Finnick’s new trident. Beetee is highly intelligent and he knows a lot about electricity, thus making him dangerous. In the training centre, he and Wiress were the only ones to notice the force field.
